Degradable netting called Oxygrid is used to reinforce turf allowing it to be cut earlier and making them stronger and better to handle. By harvesting the turf sooner less inputs are required in the time between sowing grass seed and harvesting: fertiliser, herbicides, mowing and irrigation; thereby reducing the carbon footprint of the crop. The turf can also be cut thinner which reduces their weight and the amount of fuel used during delivery.

After germination this netting largely degrades in about 18 months and fully degrades within approximately 5 years. The carbon content is captured within the root system in the same way that grass captures carbon from the air and locks it into the root system. Oxygrid is a non-toxic material and will not release or leave behind any toxic material before, during or after degradation.

In high wear areas over time the Oxygrid can come to the surface. In this case use a pair of scissors to cut away the exposed sections.
