MEETH, DEVON, JUNE 2015
Angus Howie contacted us for a substantial lawn to be laid at his new farmhouse. He came to meet us and visit our fields, and we put him in touch with Peter Hares of Hares Landscaping who we work with frequently. Peter visited the site and advised that extra topsoil was needed for the grass to thrive, which on this occasion the customer arranged. He also assessed access to the property for delivering and unloading the turf so we knew that we wouldn’t have any problems when our lorry arrived.
The imported top soil was machine finished with a digger and then Peter continued the preparation. This involved rotivating, stone raking and removing any stone and debris. Then he graded and levelled it. For the 2000 square metre garden it took 4 days of preparation and 4 days of laying for 2 people. Once completed Peter advised the customer on essential watering during the warm summer months, and the need for weed and feed treatment each autumn and spring.
The project was completed to a high standard and I’m delighted with the end result. It rained for 4 days after the lawn was laid, which was a tremendous help for all concerned. You all did what you said you would.
